SOCIAL LANDSCAPES

The Autumn 2007 edition of Conservation Bulletin by English Heritage included an article about the Ermine estate, as part of a feature on “Social Landscapes – People and their Lives”. The subtitle describes this as,

‘Post-war housing and communication have transformed our towns and countryside, but within them older patterns and habits still survive.’

This article provides a fairly detailed history and social commentary about the estate and its people. A copy of the article can be found through this link*.
